A 90-Year Story of İzmir: Kültürpark
Some places are more than just landmarks. They carry the memories of a city, witness its transformation, and preserve stories passed down through generations. For İzmir, Kültürpark is exactly such a place.
Some places are more than just landmarks. They carry the memories of a city, witness its transformation, and preserve stories passed down through generations. For İzmir, Kültürpark is exactly such a place.
Born in the heart of a city rebuilding itself after the Great Fire of İzmir in 1922, Kültürpark now celebrates its 90-year history with a special exhibition.
“Kültürpark Turns 90” is more than a journey into the past. It reveals how İzmir has changed and grown, and how Kültürpark has witnessed that remarkable transformation.
Historic fair days, period photographs, archival documents, original plans, and models recreating structures that no longer exist… Each piece feels like a small time capsule carrying Kültürpark’s memories into the present.
You may discover a photograph from your parents’ youth, a familiar scene from your own childhood, or perhaps an İzmir you have never seen before.
Because Kültürpark’s 90-year story is, in many ways, the story of everyone who has called İzmir home.
